Decision & Enrollment
Syracuse admits students on a rolling basis. Approximately four to six weeks after your application is fully complete, you will receive an e-mail notifying you of your admissions decision.
Students will be either admitted to or denied from the program to which they applied. We do not offer conditional or provisional admission. Students pending official undergraduate degree conferral will not be permitted to begin the program until that confirmation is received. Students pending official transcripts only will be allowed to start the program, but any approved federally funded financial aid will be held until the documents are received.
Our admissions teams may also choose to place students on a waitlist during the admissions review process. All waitlisted candidates will receive a final decision no later than four weeks after the application submission deadline.
Please note that we unfortunately do not provide individual feedback for students who are denied admission to Syracuse.
Your admissions notification will include a PDF package with the following items:
- Admissions Letter
- Declaration of Intent
The Declaration of Intent informs the Whitman School of Management of your enrollment plans. Students are asked to return the completed form whether or not they choose to accept an offer of admission.
- Informed Consent
This document informs students of their rights and responsibilities in the MBA@Syracuse, Entrepreneurship@Syracuse, Accounting@Syracuse or BusinessAnalytics@Syracuse programs, covering topics such as location, administration, and accreditation of the program. The Informed Consent form also covers requirements for graduation, academic integrity, and residency requirements. You must acknowledge your understanding of these points to enroll in the program.
- Behavioral Standards
Students in an online program are required to adhere to a set of behavioral standards to ensure the integrity of the learning environment for all participants. These standards include presentation, participation, rules and regulations, academic integrity, and overall Whitman School of Management student policies. You must acknowledge your understanding of these standards to enroll in the program.
- NetID Activation Instructions
The NetID is a personal identifier that serves as your primary login to access Syracuse University resources. It also serves as the handle for your Syracuse University email address. This document will provide your unique NetID and provide instructions on how to activate it.
All forms will be made available electronically. They should be signed and sent directly back to MBA@Syracuse, Entrepreneurship@Syracuse, Accounting@Syracuse or BusinessAnalytics@Syracuse by the deposit deadline indicated on your admissions letter. Your enrollment will be considered complete and you will be eligible to register for courses once we receive your deposit on campus. Enrollment deposit waivers are occasionally granted for special circumstances. If you have been granted a deposit waiver, you are not required to pay the deposit. Please contact your admissions counselor if you have questions about deposit waiver eligibility. Within three business days of receiving your Intent to Enroll documents with an affirmative answer, you will receive instructions to pay your deposit. Welcome & Orientation
The Syracuse student support team offers a series of communications to orient you to our community:
Welcome Email – Once we receive your enrollment forms and deposit, you will receive an e-mail that provides initial steps for becoming a Syracuse student and inviting you to attend a Welcome Call with student support.
Welcome Call – Every new student will receive a one-on-one Welcome Call with student support. These sessions last approximately 30-45 minutes and allow you to meet your student support advisor, learn basic program information and what to expect moving forward, see the online platform, test the system capability of your computer, and ask any questions. The one-on-one call will be scheduled directly with your student support advisor based on your availability, and you are able to choose from an array of office hour options that best fit your schedule.
Orientation Course – The Orientation course is the first class you will take as a student. Conducted through our online learning platform, Orientation contains helpful information about Syracuse University, the Whitman School of Management, online learning, and how to use the features of the platform. The Orientation course also reviews your degree requirements and provides course information for academic planning purposes.
Office Hours – At this point, you will be more familiar with the technology and the overall community. You will then have Office Hours with a small group of your fellow classmates, giving you an opportunity to dive deeper into the details and functionality of our learning platform and connect with your peers. This live session provides you with the necessary information to attend, create, and run your own live sessions in the learning platform. It will also cover navigation of the learning management system. Additional office hours will be offered leading up to the start of classes.
Ongoing Support – Student support advisors are available for ongoing assistance throughout your time in the program. Support will be present for the first two weeks of classes to make them as seamless and cohesive as possible. Additionally, student support will be working during all class times throughout the semester in order to support any class time issues that arise. They will also be available as your point of contact for whenever technical issues or questions arise.
