A Guide to Completing Your MBA Application
You’ve taken the first step to starting your MBA online by beginning an application. To help you complete the strongest application possible, we have compiled some tips and strategies you may find useful.
Tell a consistent story.
Throughout your application, highlight the qualities, skills, and experiences that make you a great MBA candidate and complement your career goals. This is the time to take pride in your accomplishments and convey your success to the admissions committee.
Select recommenders who know you best.
Your recommenders should be directly familiar with your professional experience, accomplishments, areas of improvement, and character. Connect with your recommenders to ensure that they’re considering your rationale for an MBA and appropriately representing your potential as both a student and a business leader.
Be thoughtful about your essays.
Before you begin to write your essays, take time for self-reflection so that you can effectively convey your thoughts in response to each question. Consider your experience and goals and how your essays can build upon them to reflect your potential as an exceptional MBA candidate.
Request your transcripts today.
Official degree-bearing transcripts are required. Be sure to request and mail official, sealed transcripts from each academic institution you have attended, including community college coursework, as soon as possible. In addition to being an admissions requirement, official copies of your degree-bearing transcripts are required to receive any approved federally funded financial aid, so it is important to plan ahead.
Submit a complete application.
As you plan a time line to complete your application, engage with your admissions counselor and lean on him or her for support and guidance. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so the sooner you complete and submit yours, the sooner you’ll receive a decision and be able to plan accordingly.
